Steve Hutchinson is a Managing Director of Concerto Advisors, Inc. Steve has been a private equity investor for over 30 years. During his career he has been responsible for investments in approximately 50 companies and participated in the investment process for over 100 investments. He has been a director of dozens of companies - most of them private and half a dozen of them public. The investments he led were in a wide range of industries and in companies at various stages of development. The industries included software, telecommunications, semiconductors, semiconductor capital equipment, medical devices, biotechnology, computer peripherals, financial services, capital goods manufacturing, oil and gas technology products and services, and consumer products. Mr. Hutchinson is also a founding General Partner and a Managing Director of Concerto Venture Partners, a diversified, early-stage focused venture firm.

For five years Mr. Hutchinson was a co-head of the Private Equity Group at Weiss Peck & Greer in New York City. During that period the group raised two investment funds of $175 million and $230 million, respectively. His responsibilities included: fund raising, direct reporting to the limited partners; sourcing deal flow; negotiating the acquisition, financing and disposition of portfolio investments; sitting on the boards of individual portfolio companies and overseeing their growth; managing the Group's staffing needs and making compensation decisions; and making portfolio investment determinations as one of a three-member investment committee.

Prior to his tenure at Weiss Peck & Greer, Mr. Hutchinson spent 17 years at The Hillman Company, a large privately owned investment company in Pittsburgh, where he was a Vice President and Director and specialized in making private equity and venture capital investments with specific responsibility for deal origination, due diligence analysis, negotiation of transactions and related financings and co-investments, participating in the strategic planning process for portfolio investments, as well as overseeing the implementation of such plans and arranging for the disposition of investments. During this period, The Hillman Company was the one of the largest and most successful private equity investors in the country. It invested directly in well over a hundred companies, in many cases acting as the lead investor. It also was one of the founding limited partners for many well known venture capital and private equity firms including: Kleiner, Perkins, Caufield and Byers; Kohlberg, Kravis & Roberts; TA Associates; and Brentwood Associates. Prior to joining The Hillman Company, Mr. Hutchinson spent two years at the investment banking firm of White Weld & Co, which was acquired by Merrill Lynch.

Over the last five years Mr. Hutchinson has been a consultant for several start-up technology companies and projects and was a co-founder of two start-up ventures - an Internet software company in New York and a biotechnology company in South Carolina. He negotiated licenses for the underlying technologies from corporate and university licensors, helped to devise and implement the companies' strategies and obtained financing from angel investors, institutional investors, joint venture partners, lenders and from federal government grants and contracts.

Mr. Hutchinson attended Duke University, received an AB degree from Vassar College and an MBA degree from Harvard University.
